Intel to hip hop

One only has to look to marketing to see who won the music wars back in late 80’s and early 90’s. We all know how powerful a jingle or tune can impact a consumer. Think Sprint’s “Pin Drop” sound. Or when you boot windows you are greeted with nice set of notes that make you almost feel, like the screen says, “welcome to windows.”

With that in mind let’s take a look at what Intel has done recently.

“While hip-hop artists frequently mention favorite brands in their songs, it’s pretty safe to say that tech stalwart Intel Corp. hasn’t been one of them — until now. And rather than rely on serendipity for a shout-out, Intel took matters into its own hands and commissioned a song from hip-hop/R&B musician Sean Kingston.” read rest of that article

On top of paying the artist, they  sponsored the website, made up a video, and of course ringtones  and let the world know that hip hop has Gotta Move Faster which is also the name of the Song that gives a Shout out to Centrino as the song opens. Check it out for yourself. Here

SEO Friendly URL Structure for WordPress Blogs

I have been wondering how to get my urls to be more search engine friendly. The first thing to do is get yourself a plugin and read Mr. Loren Baker’s Blog post on how to do just that. Here is the link : Friendly URL

There is a little more to it than just that. I am planning on getting down and dirty with my robots.txt file to block the spiders from getting to the duplicate content. Not sure exactly how to do it just yet, but hope to have it figured out soon.

Websites for cell phones

November 16 2007: 9:17 AM EST

Brett Dewey’s company thrives on spur-of-the-moment purchases. His North Hollywood, Calif., web business, WickedCoolStuff, collects $1 million a year for nostalgic merchandise such as Captain Picard action figures, Underdog lunch boxes, and toys based on Monty Python movies. His customers, mainly men in their late 20s, are more tech savvy than most online shoppers, but they aren’t chained to their computers. Even Star Trek fans venture outdoors.

So when Dewey heard about a new kind of website tailored to conduct e-commerce over cellphones, he jumped at the chance to make himself accessible to clients during virtuallydot mobi all their waking hours. “If someone sees an advertisement, he may not remember it by the time he gets back to his computer,” he says. “But his phone is always on hand for an impulse buy.”

Adam Dicker, DNforum, & GoDaddy live?

Godaddy Live? GodaddyLive Who knew that Godaddy had a Radio show that plays live once a week on Wednesday at 4pm EST 1pm PST. The reason I know about this is from a post over at DNforum annoucing the Owner of DNfourm, Adam DickerAdam Dicker, is going to be on today. He is not there to promote his forum, but rather to let the world know that he is now the VP of Godaddy's Domain Name After Market TDNAM. Being a domainer myself I am surprised he is working with Godaddy. This is the only service of the bigger players in the Registrar business that I have honestly not felt up to par. I would have loved to see a closer relationship with Moniker.com They have made great efforts to offer DNF members cool benefits in the past and even now. My bias is in favor of Moniker because I have met and worked with Moniker to buy and sell names, handle my portfolio of names, and had great experience using Moniker's escrow service…Monte even handled that one personally. Well this was going to more about Godaddy and Adam Dicker, than Moniker, but seems it didn't work out that way. Maybe after the show I feel inspaired to recap what Adam has to say and what he brings to the table by joining Godaddy, beside the 34,000 of his forum members' eyeballs and wallets. Getting Feedback About Businesses

Looking at what business and service to use online isn’t as hard as it once was. It doesn’t really matter what service you are looking for, just that you need something done and someone to do it. In the world of Web 2.0 and beyond, the question that nags at all of us while we are looking for a good service provider is, ” Is this a good service? Will I get ripped off? How do others feel about this business, really?”

Back in the day it was difficult to get real information about a company Continue reading
