Don’t reset Your Facebook Password..email

Just a quick note to those who have been getting the emails that say you need to reset your FACEBOOK password.
That is a bogus email and some scammer is trying to dupe you. Delete that email and don’t even open it.

Side note about the IRS.
The IRS will never email you. They use the US Postal system or show up in person.

Google Reveals Adsense Revenue Share….finally.

Today, in the spirit of greater transparency with AdSense publishers, we’re sharing the revenue shares for our two main AdSense products — AdSense for content and AdSense for search.

As you may already know, AdSense is comprised of several products. The most popular are AdSense for content, which allows publishers to generate revenue from ads placed alongside web content, and AdSense for search, which allows publishers to place a custom Google search engine on their site and generate revenue from ads shown next to search results. Since AdSense for content and AdSense for search offer publishers different services, the revenue shared with publishers differs for each of these products.

AdSense for content publishers, who make up the vast majority of our AdSense publishers, earn a 68% revenue share worldwide. This means we pay 68% of the revenue that we collect from advertisers for AdSense for content ads that appear on your sites. The remaining portion that we keep reflects Google’s costs for our continued investment in AdSense — including the development of new technologies, products and features that help maximize the earnings you generate from these ads. It also reflects the costs we incur in building products and features that enable our AdWords advertisers to serve ads on our AdSense partner sites. Since launching AdSense for content in 2003, this revenue share has never changed.

DW 8 crashes at Initializing Extension Data

So it was bound to happen at some point. I have over 90 websites setup in dreamweaver and have had an occasional error, but this was a new one on me.

Every time I tried to load Dreamweaver it would get stuck at

Initializing Extension Data

Off to find a solution in search and found this nice little gem that fixed it right up.

I have a similar solution in Dreamweaver CS4 Windows.
The folder in question can be found at /Documents and Settings/[login ID]/Application Data/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/[language code]/Configuration/SiteCache.
In my case, I found it sufficient to delete the folder and file for the site I last worked on. When I re-launched Dreamweaver, it automatically rebuilt the cache for just that site.

Video on Multi-tasking (i.e Destracted by Everything)

I found this video a good way to spend some time staring at the screen. It's about 90 mins long, but in that time I felt I learned new way of thinking about this new world we live in…The Digital World..always plugged in.

Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta to Close April 30, 2010

Dear Publisher,

Yahoo! continuously evaluates and prioritizes our products and services, in alignment with business goals and our continued commitment to deliver the best consumer and advertiser experiences. After conducting an extensive review of the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta program, we have decided to close the program effective April 30, 2010. We expect to deliver final publisher payments for the month ending April 30, 2010 to publishers no later than May 31, 2010. All publishers eligible for 1099s for the 2010 tax year will have those mailed by January 31, 2011.

Because our content will no longer be delivered to your ad unit spaces after April 30, 2010, we recommend removing all YPN ad code from your pages by that date.

For the opportunity to continue earning revenue, we suggest using Chitika, a leading advertising network that syndicates Yahoo! Content Match and Sponsored Search ads. Chitika has set up a special process for YPNO beta publishers to participate in its platform. Click Here for more information.

We thank you for your participation in the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact our Support Team at (866) 785-2636, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PDT.
Sincerely,

Your Partners at Yahoo!

Twitter Newsletter 2010 – Edition #1

For those who do not get the Twitter newsletter, here is what I got today and wanted to share:

Hi there,

In the early days of Twitter, I used to send out short updates just to keep everyone in the loop since so much was happening. It’s been a while, but you signed up for short, monthly updates from Twitter so we thought it was time to start sharing more information. We’ve had quite a year. If you haven’t visited in a while, we’d like to invite you to come have a look at http://twitter.com — we’ve been busy!

Growing Up
In the course of a year, registered Twitter accounts have grown more than 1,500% and our team has grown 500%. Recently, we hired our 140th employee! His name is Aaron and he’s an engineer focused on building internal tools to help promote productivity, communication, and support within our company. We celebrated with a little dance party.

Features of Note
Some features of note that we released over the course of a year include the ability to create lists, quickly spread information with a retweet button, and an easier way to activate your mobile phone to work with Twitter over SMS. We also built a new mobile web site that looks and works much better on smart phones.

Feeling Inspired
By working together during critical times when others needed help, sharing important information that otherwise might not make the news, and inventing new and interesting ways to use Twitter, you’ve shown us that Twitter is more than a triumph of technology — it is a triumph of humanity. Projects like Fledgling and Hope140 were inspired by you.

Chirp!
While there may only be 140 full-time employees working at the Twitter offices, there are thousands of dedicated platform developers who have now created more than 70,000 registered Twitter applications creating variety and utility for all of us. We’ll be gathering this spring at Chirp, our first ever official Twitter developer conference.

Thanks,
Biz Stone, Co-founder (@Biz)

ASA to take over Facebook, Twitter regulation

Remit to include social media

Free whitepaper – IT infrastructure for midsized companies

Advertising regulator the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) will take over the regulation of companies' social networking pages by the end of the year, according to advertising industry proposals.

The ASA hopes that the move will plug a regulatory gap that has resulted in two thirds of the complaints it receives relating to activity over which it has no authority.

Trade body the Advertising Association has recommended that the ASA regulate companies' activity on sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

"This landmark move for advertising self-regulation seeks to address societal concerns and will increase…..

Just found this interesting, regulation beyond a company's website itself…Telling companies online how they may behave on social media sites.
It does seem some sort of oversight is needed as they are getting complaints and have no influence in this media-sphere.

Old and New, Friends and Thank You-s

This blog posting goes out to everyone who has made it such a wonderful year for me, my business, and my family.
