Apple wins US ban on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1

Really Apple?  You don’t like compeition? You don’t have enough money stored away?  Who loses out? We do, the consumer.

Some Highlights from the article…

…court had already found that the Tab 10.1 and Apple’s iPad were “virtually indistinguishable” so the only question was the balance of harm

….. Samsung has the right to appeal the decision to the appeals court in Washington, which it has already done, filing the motion practically before the ink was dry on the preliminary injunction order.

“Should Apple continue to make legal claims based on such a generic design patent, design innovation and progress in the industry could be restricted.”

Apple will fall to the likes of Google because its closed system.

With all the hype about Apple right now it hard to even think that they will one day fail!

Rotten AppleBut I too belive this powerhouse will fall. The open source ecosystem of the WWW is just the norm. Sure it seems cool to have a propiety Apple tablet and phone, but you can no win against the numbers. The number of people who support and work on open source just because they can and want to make a software perform better and more functions is only measurable to the close source platforms.
So while Apple is on tp today I will bet against them in the next 5 years. I think they will succumb to the open source or die model.

Here is the Article that inspired this post

GOOGLE cloud storage named: Drive

Seems like a pretty good deal
5GB FREE for everyone
25GB  $2.49/mo.
100GB $4.99/mo.
1TB  $44.95/mo
and juicy little BONUS nugget: All paid plan subscribers also see their Gmail storage allocation rise to 25GB, which could prove handy for corporate customers.
For $29.88 a year I can have more mail space and access to my files everywhere…sounds good to me, but might as well go for 100GB for $59.88/yr and not worrry about space for a while.
Now just looking fo 4G with LTE to get hooked up in the North West so we don’t worry about upload/download speeds either.
Enjoy your tech
