  1. When you break down the numbers:
About 1.5+ MILLION People are covered with PPL
    Sale of $650 MILLION
Each person/user is worth $434 to them.

Now compare that to the recent Facebook valuation:
    50 BILLION
    500 MILLION users
    Each account is worth $1000

If we just go by values Pre Paid Legal Just got an Upgrade in Value.
Worth about half of what Facebook is worth.

Be sure to check the PPD ticker, about DOUBLED in 2 years!

I am a PPL member and associate. I believe in the service and see it getting better and better.

  2. To access FB you pay more per year than you would for a PPL plan.
Not to mention the cost of your privacy…which really is priceless. So when your FB account gets hacked, I hope you have Identity Theft protection..which PPL offers.

  3. You may pay to access facebook (connectivity etc) but this does not line the pockets of FB, and really, you have to be somewhat light in intelligence to leave damaging personal fata on any plateform using OAuth. But FB is a long way from being the only victim, Amazon and Sourceforge both announced rexently that they had severe security issues. Coding on FB on the level I am at the moment, I have to say their system is pretty darn good, but it will get hacked, like apple, microsoft, ibm -name your giant. There are 1000’s of hackers trying to access this right now. One day, one will – maybe a little, maybe everything.
That notwithstanding, to get free access to facebook, you pay with risjing your privacy. But to get free access to google (search, not apps or mail or any ‘extra’) you are also risking your privacy. To use any online system, you are risking your privacy One has to evaluate risk/benefit – and if you dont like the risk, you stop taking the benefit! :o)
I am happy with the risk level, irrespective of benefit!

  4. Agreed. Privacy will always be a concern so get protection.

    To get back to Values….
Would you like 1.5+ million people paying monthly
    or
500 Million people (some fake) some who might pay you monthly..while most will not spend a dime with facebook directly this month?

Just waiting for the day that google and facebook start charging.

  5. FB makes billions through advertising. The day they start charging is the day they close. Sur, many would stay, but suppose 1/2 left. Would you still use it if 1/2 the potential etc was gone? Would you still pay for it? No, they have a great model, charging on a tier system for app developers, chargi8ng for advertising, launching their own currency – wow, they never need charge. Google too is desperatley seeking to increase revenues (okay, desperate it isnt, but they are *very* activley trying to) but they know, the day they start to charge is the day we all start to Bing. Of the 500 million, most are real – I kjnow this because they closed my fake account (used for testing) -0 even though I had done much to make it seem ‘real’ (for the purpose of testing, not defrauding stats or games). I have no doubt there are some fakes, but its a small amount. You tybe is more likley to start charging
